Stevie Rocco, M.Ed.
I have over 20 years of experience working with faculty members to create, teach, and manage online learning. I am currently a faculty member at Penn State’s College of Earth and Mineral Sciences, where my team produces and uses tools and technologies that create quality course experiences for students studying in person and at a distance. In addition, I consult on a wide variety of topics, including faculty development for online teaching, copyright and creative commons, accessibility, usability, open source/free tools, and social media. I hold a B.S. in Secondary Education and an M.Ed. in Adult Education. In my spare time, I knit, weave, spin fiber into yarn, wrangle cats, dogs, and children, and engage with my personal learning network.
My current interests include all things fiber—from washing fleece, to spinning that fleece into yarn, and then weaving or knitting with it. I also enjoy a lot of reading; fiction is my jam, but I love nonfiction as an audiobook. When I have time, I like to do yoga to stay centered, and I’m always up for playing card games, board games, pinball, or classic video arcade games!
